SEMA Show 2021: Hot LS and LT Engine Bays

Yeah, we know “LS swap the world!”—but, seriously, in stock form the LS engine isn’t very attractive, and its LT cousins are even worse. Hey, GM was trying to churn out a high-performance engineering masterpiece, not a show pony, so we can forgive the homely looks.

Of course, hot rodders, being who they are, have come up with some pretty creative ideas to spruce up the looks-challenged modern LS, Vortec, and LT mills. Sometimes it’s just cleaning up the wiring and relocating the coil packs. Other times it’s hiding the mess under some custom covers.

But what really gets our attention is when builders go all out where the result doesn’t even resemble an LS engine any longer. Or maybe they work it over to have an old-school small-block vibe. Killer inductions systems, sweet blowers, billet valve covers, and artfully plumbed turbos are all used by clever builders to make LS- and LT-swapped engine bays things of beauty. We walked miles of 2021 SEMA booths to find you a sweet assortment of worked-over LS and LT engine bays that run the gamut from mild to wild.
