Two new Clean Air Zones are set to launch this spring in Bradford and Greater Manchester affecting petrol and diesel owners. Drivers who are worried they are affected by the fees can now check using national and local services.
GOV.UK has launched a national service where drivers can check whether they need to pay fees across any of the UK Clean Air Zones.
This included the two new charges in Manchester and Bradford but also the existing schemes in Bath, Birmingham and Portsmouth.
The results are then presented in a table where drivers can determine how much they would pay to use the roads.
To access the service, drivers will simply need the number plate of the vehicle they are hoping to check.
They said: “You might need to pay to drive in a clean air zone if your vehicle does not meet emissions standards.

“This service cannot check vehicles that are registered outside the UK.”
They added: “If your results show no charge, your vehicle is compliant in this Clean Air Zone and you do not need to pay.”
