Sarah Quinn, 35, claims she has been “harrassed” by the firm after stopping in her friend’s parking space. Despite having permission from her friend to use the space, Ms Quinn claims Vehicle Control Services is demanding she pays £285 for breaking the rules.

Speaking to Yorkshire Live, she said the fine came about after visiting her friend Holly in 2016.

She said Holly realised her permit has been misplaced and could not be stuck on Sarah’s car.

However, Holly put a note on the car asking the parking attendant to buzz her flat to confirm the car was parked with permission.

According to Sarah, the attendant said he wouldn’t ticket the car before changing his mind.

Soon after, they saw the parking attendant taking photos of her car when looking out of her friend’s window.

She added: “We went down to the car park and he said he was ticketing me anyway.

“I got the email address from the notice and emailed them straight away explaining the situation and that it was my friend’s land.

“They ignored my email. They then obtained my address through DVLA and started a campaign of harassment that has lasted five years.”

Ms Quinn claims the parking firm has threatened to send bailiffs to her home after not paying the charge.

She has also been told by the firm that failing to pay the fee could negatively impact her credit rating.

However, she claims her friend’s tenancy agreement says the space is her land as long as she doesn’t obstruct anyone else.

Ms Quinn said the fine was a big strain on her mentally but she is still determined to fight her case.
