Almost seven million MOTs are set to expire in September and October because of delays made as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Drivers were given a six-month MOT exemption, which was introduced between March 30 and July 31 in response to the pandemic.
This has resulted in a busier end to the year for the mandatory tests for vehicles that are aged three years and over.
Around 9.58 million drivers are choosing to take advantage of this opportunity to postpone the annual assessment.
Because of this massive shift in demand, testing volumes across the year may be altered.
