Land Rover Debuts Defender V-8 James Bond Edition

In honor of its 38-year association with the James Bond franchise, Land Rover has released a limited-edition Defender 110. Inspired by the upcoming Bond film No Time to Diethere will only be 300 examples of the blacked-out Defender produced.

Based on the four-door 110 model, the 2022 Land Rover Defender V-8 James Bond Edition features custom work by Land Rover SV Bespoke in the U.K. Power to the 007-inspired Defender comes from a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 rated at 518 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque. The all-black luxury SUV has a top speed of 149 mph and can reach 60 mph in 5.1 seconds.

Bespoke touches to the exterior include 22-inch gloss black wheels, Xenon Blue calipers, 007 puddle lamps, and a Defender 007 badge in the rear. Inside, it gets illuminated sill plates and an exclusive animation on the Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment. The retuned suspension has bespoke spring and damper rates and a new electric active rear differential. These upgrades should improve handling.

Sporting the Extended Black package, each Defender V-8 James Bond Edition will have a series number etching denoting it as a collector’s item and a starting price of $114,600. The 25th installment in the series, featuring the Defender 110, premieres in movie theaters on October 8.
