Rishi Sunak announces £4.5 billion in lockdown business support
The first lockdown of 2021 came into effect on Monday, evoking memories of spring 2020 for Brits as rules once again prevent significant social interaction. Mandated shop closures form a cornerstone of the latest policy, with most non-essential stores shut to the general public. Only those deemed essential can remain in operation while the pandemic ensues.
Is Halfords open in lockdown?
Ministers have shut all non-essential shops for everything but delivery and click-and-collect.
Shops which provide essential services such as food, medicine and anything else deemed necessary for people to survive during the pandemic can keep their doors open.
Halfords provides a range of services, but as their stores supply essential car parts and maintenance, they can remain open.

Much like other shops, Halfords won’t allow people to try their products, such as bikes, due to risks of Covid-19 transmission.
For information about bikes, people will have to defer to store staff.
