One social media user claimed their miles per gallon had “gone down” since using the new fuel. Another even claimed a whole £30 petrol top-up lasted just one day as fears of fuel economy issues continue to be raised.
One Twitter user said: “I’m no conspiracy theorist but I’m 1,000 percent certain my car is going through this new E10 fuel quicker than the old petrol.”
Twitter user Rob M added: “Thanks for wasting fuel.
“Had 100 miles left, did 56, somehow I only have 30 left. Where’s the miles?
“It’s not eco-friendly if I have to use more fuel for the same journey.”
Angela Rimmington Brown added: “Has your MPG gone down since we’re forced to use #E10 petrol?
“Mine has by an average 11 percent.
“So tell me how that’s #ReducingCO2 and being good for the environment if I use more?”
Twitter user Miss C added: “Once again E10 fuel has outdone [itself], £30 lasted me… Wait for it a whole day!
