A huge variety of cars show up for the 5th annual charity event.
As a 3-time NASCAR Champion crew chief Ray Evernham is no stranger to hot rodding, but his other passion is helping others, so five years ago he came up with a plan to meld the two together into what has turned out to be one of the best charity car shows we’ve attended. Now in its fifth year the AmeriCarna LIVE charity event brings some really cool cars together for a great cause at the massive Ingersoll Rand campus in North Carolina. Proceeds from this event benefit IGNITE, which is a program to support those affected by high-functioning autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. It’s a great cause and an awesome excuse to put off the chores and check out a staggering variety of cars, trucks, and pieces of history. Even with the threat of rain close to 600 rides showed up to support the event, hang out, and enjoy the live music and activities.
Sure, the event had what you would expect with classic Chevys, Fords, and Mopars, but what about a Ghostbusters ambulance? A Porsche converted to electric power? Maybe a barn find GT500 Mustang? And this is NASCAR country, so there was a huge lineup of vintage racers from the hayday of the sport.
