Motorists have an obligation to keep their vehicle in a safe and roadworthy condition on the roads. Therefore, if you’re aware of a recall or a recall is made against your vehicle and you don’t have the issue remedied then you could be potentially charged for ‘using a defective vehicle.’

Typically manufacturers will contact you if there is an urgent issue to be resolved on your vehicle.

However, if you’ve bought the car secondhand it could have an issue that needs to be fixed with the previous owner failed to do.
