Be Batman: 2023 Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition Echoes the Dark Knight
No, the heroic Batmobile hasn’t been replaced by the 2023 Gotham Gray Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition, but it’s the closest Acura to Batman’s ride you’re going to find. The luxury automaker is debuting a limited-edition sports sedan that looks gothic and sinister, and it’s based on the hand-assembled PMC Edition using the Acura NSX Type S signature color.
Inspired by, you know, the Batman, the 2023 Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition gets the Gotham Gray matte paint, which utilizes a clear matte metallic finish, straight out of a Batman superhero movie. Like the TLX Type S PMC Edition, this model gets door handles and lower side-sills painted in Berlina Black paint. A gloss carbon fiber decklid spoiler will help you identify it on the road in case its paint isn’t menacing enough, and the carbon fiber rear diffuser and quad exhaust complete the aggressive look. The lightweight 20-inch Y-spoke wheels painted in Berlina Black are wrapped around Pirelli P-Zero summer tires, giving the sports sedan maximum grip to cruise around Gotham City.
Inside, you’ll feel a little bit of the Batcave. The ambient lighting gives the cabin a cool look, while the carbon fiber trim ups the game. All models come with the Red Milano leather interior with suede inserts, which contrasts with the black soft plastics on the dashboard and door panels. A numbered serial plaque in the lower part of the center console lets you know which of the 50 special edition models you’re in, and the illuminated Type S side sills and a flat-bottom heated steering wheel enhance the interior experience.
Like other PMC Editions, the 2023 Gotham Gray TLX Type S PMC Edition will be hand-assembled at Acura’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio. With a price of $66,995, we hope you’re really into the Batman, err, Acura’s gothic looks, as it’s the most expensive TLX up to date. At least you’ll have the 355-hp 3.0-liter V-6 turbo engine to feel like you’re driving like Batman.
The limited-edition model will be available to order in the U.S. next month.
