Chevrolet Performance just announced some specs on the new 2022 COPO Camaro options, and one is a 572-cubic-inch big-block mill under the hood.
Something very special is being built at GM’s COPO build facility in Oxford, Michigan: big-block Camaros! Yep, for the first time in a very long time, you can order a Camaro, from the factory, with a big-block mill under the hood!

OK, yeah, we know that these are set up for NHRA’s Stock and Super Stock classes and not VINed, or legal for street use, but we still think it’s cool that in a world of LS and LT everything, you can roll with a factory big-block Camaro again.
Every 2022 COPO will come with wheelie bars, a two-piece carbon hood, and a ton of COPO-branded parts. They will also ship with Hoosier drag tires mounted on Bogart race wheels along with smoked taillights, clear side markers, and an external battery charger hookup. If you go with a blown 2022 COPO, you also get a parachute package, which gives you a hint at the performance potential.
The standard colors are Summit White, Satin Steel Gray, Red Hot, and the obligatory black. If you have your heart set on any other of GM’s color offerings, you can put it on the order for $18,000. They also offer graphics packages and other wheel options.
The 2022 COPO Camaros can be had with a few LSX small-blocks and even a 580-horsepower, 350-inch supercharged V-8. But what we’re excited about is the high-performance 572-inch big-block option. With an iron block, forged guts, and killer heads, what’s not to love? No word on power output, but GM sells a crate-engine version of the 572 that makes over 700 horsepower. All the engines will come backed up by an ATI Racing Products TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. No matter what you choose, expect to pay well over $100K for your turnkey race Camaro.
