2019 Nissan Altima: Recall Alert
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 370 model-year 2019 Nissan Altima sedans equipped with front-wheel drive and 2.5-liter engines
The Problem: The fuel pump lock ring may not be fully engaged, possibly causing fuel to leak that, in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of a fire.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the fuel tank assembly. If the lock ring is disengaged, dealers will tighten the ring to specification. If the lock ring is detached, dealers will replace the fuel pump. Both repairs will be done for free.
What Owners Should Do: Nissan will begin notifying owners in June. Owners can call the automaker at 800-867-7669, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
