2012-2020 Volkswagen Passat, Atlas: Recall Alert
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 662,100 model-year 2012-20 Volkswagen Passat sedans and model-year 2018-19 Atlas SUVs
The Problem: The blocking cap disabling the adjustment of the headlight’s horizontal aim may not have been installed, which could mean the headlight aim is adjusted out of specification, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect and block the headlight horizontal adjustment, as necessary, for free.
What Owners Should Do: Volkswagen will begin notifying owners July 10. Owners can call the automaker at 800-893-5298, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
